We are invited to a Division 9 Meeting, Portsmouth, Ohio

13 September: Coal Division Meeting, Mark Maynard’s home, West Portsmouth, OH. This is our annual event at Mark’s home. Things get started at Noon with Mark’s very tasty barbecue. The business meeting will be at 2 PM. During the entire afternoon we will be holding our division swap meet. Bring those unwanted items with a tag indicating your name (no initials, please) and the price of the item. We will have a cashier handling the proceeds, the division keeps 10%. Mark will also present two clinics. One will be on rock casting, the other, back by popular demand, is his excellent clinic on switch machine installation. Mark has developed some truly innovative methods that you will find most interesting. We will also have our contest, this month it is photographs. Throughout the afternoon Mark’s layout will also be open for your viewing. To make the afternoon even more pleasurable we have invited members of nearby NMRA MCR divisions to join us.

All of this takes place at 42 Brouses Run Road, West Portsmouth, Ohio. From Columbus, Ohio

Find U.S. Rt. 23 and head South for 86 miles. Once in Portsmouth city limits, you will go over an overpass (crossing over the Norfolk Southern tracks). At the second traffic light you should see an Arby’s on the left and Bob and Floyd’s Tire shop on the right and a U.S. Rt. 52 Junction sign. Make a right turn onto U.S. Rt. 52 west and go 4 ½ miles to a road on the right called Brouses Run Road (it‘s ½ mile from where the four lane road goes to two). Turn right, and go past the first house on the right (mine) and then turn right into the barn lot about 150 feet past the house. The meeting and railroad are at the barn.
